Trained nursing personnel who look after the weak and ailing patients under the strict vigilance of the registered nurses. However, to work ingeniously as a certified nursing assistant, it is extremely essential to first complete the accredited and state-approved CNA training program and pass the state evaluation test. This will in turn result in receiving CNA certification. A professional nursing assistant could work nursing homes, home health settings, hospitals, clinics or at any other long term medical care facility.
However, it is completely necessary for all the nursing students to clear this CNA evaluation exam. This examination is divided into 2 parts:
This test comprises of seventy five to hundred MCQs (multiple choice questions) that are to be completed in one to two hours. It is mandatory for all the nursing scholars to attach the answer script with its face down after the completion of the test.
Followed by the written test, students appear for the practical test. Here, the nursing students need to execute 5 randomly selected skills on the spot. These skills are picked out by the supervising nurse. During the test, the teachers provide the students with dummy or live model to perform their skills.
It is obligatory for all the students to clear both the exams with at least 75% of marks. As soon as the scholars get their tests results, they are awarded with CNA certification. The results are mailed to the scholars’ mentioned address.
During the CNA training program, students are trained in all the skills and techniques, which will help them in clearing the nursing test. The classes are also divided into theoretical and practical. The nursing test for certified nursing assistants must follow the obligations listed under the OBRA/87. Prometric, Headmaster and Pearson Vue are such agencies, which also assist in managing and regulating the nursing test for CNAs.
